C&rsquo;est le cimeti\u00e8re. De ma vie, je n&rsquo;ai jamais vu un endroit pareil. Ce type de lieu se veut triste en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Ou parfois beau et paisible, comme en Afrique, quand d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9gants frangipaniers aux fleurs p\u00e2les ombragent les all\u00e9es calmes, derri\u00e8re de grands murs blancs. Mais qui oserait imaginer cette n\u00e9cropole resplendissante d&rsquo;un jaune flamboyant ? C&rsquo;est si radieux qu&rsquo;il y flotte comme un air de vacances \u00e9ternelles&#8230; On aimerait presque partager la sieste d&rsquo;un dormeur du val qui profite agr\u00e9ablement d&rsquo;une douce brise, allong\u00e9 sur un coussin moelleux. Des petits anges joufflus jouent \u00e0 cache-cache dans les fleurs, sont-ils en train de surveiller leurs moutons de pierres? Les vieilles st\u00e8les et les ob\u00e9lisques semblent jet\u00e9es au hasard d&rsquo;un jeu de quilles dans un oc\u00e9an orang\u00e9 en pleine floraison printani\u00e8re. C&rsquo;est magnifique et joyeux. D\u00e9vast\u00e9e par l&rsquo;effroyable cyclone de 1900, Galveston est connue comme la ville la plus hant\u00e9e de l&rsquo;\u00e9tat. En voyant le cimeti\u00e8re, on comprend ais\u00e9ment pourquoi les esprits (\u00e9picuriens?) veulent tous rester l\u00e0&#8230; * Galveston est une ville situ\u00e9e au sud du Texas, sur une \u00eele dans le golfe du Mexique.
